what i've been doing with my life & jeffery

i'll get back to this little guy in a minute.

as for the near month long hiatus i've taken, i cannot explain. i just haven't honestly taken the time to blog.

i had a great Christmas and a wonderful new years and i've really been having loads of fun ever since. granted, blogworthy fun, but i've been too busy truly enjoying it to actually stop and sit down.

but with that out of the way, let me get back to that little critter up there. last thursday i noticed a stray down the street from my house. i stopped, as i always do for strays, and attempted to call him to me, or, at the very least, get him out of the road. he refused both and the next day my rescue instincts kicked in and i was down there with bologna and canned food.

i spent two hours the first night and made loads of progress for how terrified he was. saturday robbie and i spent four hours out there and i got him within ten feet of me. i left that evening feeling discouraged and worried he would get hit by a car before i could save him. i left him alone sunday and monday but continued to feed him (much to the displeasure of animal control and their live animal trap). tuesday i was so busy i didn't get to even feed him, unfortunately, but lo and behold yesterday he had showed up at my house. i'd like to think he was looking for me.

i lured him into my grandmother's fenced in front yard and he's been named Jeffery and he will forever be mine. he needs serious rehabilitation, but i've been sitting with him before and after work. we'll get there.

it only took an entire week, four packs of bologna, a case of dog food, and a lot of time.
